De Oude Tijd cigar speciality shop has been a household name in Utrecht and the surrounding area for more than 85 years. Offering a wide range of cigars, tobacco pipes and related accessories, the client has been striving for a positive interpretation of enjoying tobacco.

  • About The Project

    De Oude Tijd is Netherlands leading cigar and cigarette sellers with a spacious physical store and a well-made online store. However, the client wanted to recreate their online store in Magento 2 for improved user experience and interface. Luckily, we were chosen for this development task.

    Together we selected a new Magento 2 theme and customised it so it was in keeping to the new De Oude Tijd brand guidelines. Further, a customised shipping module and payment gateway were integrated for seamless delivery and faster checkout. The project was handed over to the client prior to the delivery date.

    Objectives

    • Rebuild the existing website in Magento 2 with the latest features, functionalities and customizations.
    • Analyse and create an engaging theme from the scratch that not only connects with the users but promotes sales of cigarettes and cigars.
    • Integrate payment gateway for faster and smoother checkout so that there are least or no chances of cart abandonment.
    • Create a news module where the client can post news about their products and latest releases on a regular basis.
    • Integrate a shipping module to eliminate any kind of confusions related to order shipment and delivery.
    • Adopt personalized SEO strategies to promote better ranking, brand identity and reputation.
